Hitachi 6 door refrigerator is made in Japan and makes use of cutting edge technologies such as vacuum and photocatalyst preservation. A vacuum pump is used for air extraction from the compartment for vacuum preservation, a process which helps to retain the nutrients in food, keeping it fresher for longer periods of time. Photocatalyst preservation uses an LED and a photocatalyst to help to suppress the growth of microbes and enable deodorisation for the atmosphere in which vegetables, fruits and meat are stored by breaking down the Ethylene gas and odour components. The refrigerator also comprises a user friendly touch control panel with a digital display. In line with Hitachi's efforts towards environmental sustainability, energy saving technology such as a dual fan cooling system has been made an integral part of the refrigerator. This system speeds up cooling and thus helps save energy. The power saving mode, in every compartment is individually cooled to reduce energy consumption and as such is a unique feature. An added facet to this effort towards energy saving is an alarm that sounds to alert you if the door of the refrigerator remains open beyond 30 seconds when the refrigerator is in power saving mode.
