Hitachi partnered with Times Network for the edition of Hitachi Social Innovation Forum 2017 DELHI. The conference brought together renowned thinkers, technologists and urban planners to collaborate and inspire solutions to transform India’s future. The event was marked by highly effective discussions on IT, Urban Transportation (Railways) and Infrastructure (Solutions to India’s potable water problems).

Apart from panelists, the audience was given an opportunity to voice their opinions and suggestions on solving the rapid urbanization issues plaguing India.

    Smart Transportation - Key to Transforming India Cities into Smart Cities

  • The panel discussion focused on the role of smart transportation in transforming Indian cities into Smart Cities. The forum was attended by luminaries from the industry to discuss and debate on how technology can be deployed to make intra-city travel fast, efficient and seamless. Mr. Mangal Dev told audience how Hitachi can play a crucial role in the modernization of Indian Railways. He also discussed the role of Big Data in railways in addressing various demand and supply issues, among others.

    Fight against water scarcity -The role of technology in Water Resources Planning and Management

  • The agenda of the discussion was Fight against water scarcity and the role of technology in water resources planning and management. The panel discussed the need for efficient water management system in India and how technology can be deployed to ensure high level of utilization. Mr. Koichi Tsuzuki spoke about India’s complex water problems and explained how an IoT platform from which stakeholders can communicate and collaborate to optimize water resources can be one of the key solutions.

    Digital Transformation – Capitalizing on IT-OT convergence

  • The panel discussed the digital parameters of businesses and companies that are now in the race to leverage digital technologies. It involved talk on how IT – OT convergence enables direct control and provides complete monitoring, with easier analysis of data from complex systems from anywhere in the world. The forum also discussed Hitachi’s core platform Lumada and, how it is relevant for a sustainable and strategic digital transformation.

  • The discussion took into consideration the government's focus and emphasis on 'Digital India' and the strategies companies can leverage to build a digital enterprise. Further, the power of a digital enterprise to drive innovation was discussed along with the different facets of digital enterprise transformation such as Cloud, Mobile, Data, and Social & Analytics.
